Environmental Operations Park (EOP) – Preserving Sierra Vista's Resources

At the EOP, the wastewater is treated without the addition of any chemicals, and without the use of ultraviolet light.

Last year, this facility recharged nearly twice as much water as Fort Huachuca used in the entire year!

This facility is the most significant water mitigation project in our sub-watershed. In 2007, this facility recharged 2,000 acre-feet of water! Since opening in 2002, the EOP has recharged almost 11,000 acre-feet of water…more than 305 million gallons.  That water is recharged into the aquifer creating a sustainable water supply for future generations.

“Water Management is a critical issue and one of the biggest challenges the nation faces.  The Environmental Operation Park…is an example of innovative management and it’s a really great thing to see.”
